Funding and Incentives

Understanding the financial landscape of hydrogen-related projects, detailing available funding options, grants, and incentives for advancing hydrogen technologies.

In the 88th Legislative Session, the Texas Hydrogen Alliance worked closely with its members to pass HB 4885 (Landgraf).  Under this bill, a new hydrogen centric funding mechanism was created for the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality’s (TCEQ) Texas Emission Reduction Program (TERP).  Funding opportunities for hydrogen vehicles, equipment and infrastructure will not be available for Texas fleets.  The Texas Hydrogen Infrastructure, Vehicle, and Equipment (THIVE) grant program will have $16 million available for fleets transitioning to hydrogen from diesel.  The goal of the Program is to reduce Nitrogen Oxide (NOx) emissions.  For more information on TERP, visit Protect the Lone Star State – Texas Commission on Environmental Quality – www.tceq.texas.gov
